Intermediate Photography with Dawn Muncy | Please note, you must have a solid understanding of the exposure triangle to enroll in this class as it is the basis for all photography. Day 1: The magic of the exposure triangle. In the Intro to Photography class you will learn the basics of the exposure triangle, in this class we will dig deep into how to make the exposure triangle work for you to achieve your vision in camera. Learning to “get it in camera” will significantly reduce the need for editing and bring your images to life. Day 2: RAW, what is it and do I really want to use it? Perhaps the most powerful technology in photography is the ability to photograph in the Camera Raw setting. Learn why and how this incredible tool can help you attain results you never imagined possible. Day 3: Basic file adjustment and management. Learn to enhance what you have captured with basic file adjustments in photoshop and other file manipulation software. In this class we will delve into color balance, cropping, basic burn and dodge techniques and how to save and size your images for print, social media, archiving and more. We’ll also discuss the importance of adopting a file management structure to insure you can find and utilize your images for years to come. Day 4. The Business of Photography. In this class we’ll review a few necessities for kicking off a successful photography business. Photography is fun and so is the photography business when you start off with a solid foundation. Learn the basics of pricing to keep yourself in business as well as some best practices to keep you around and relevant for years to come. | |

Introduction to Photography with Dawn Muncy | Embark on an exciting journey into the world of photography with our Introduction to Photography course with Master Photographer Dawn Muncy. Specifically designed for beginners, this course covers essential concepts and techniques to help you gain a comprehensive understanding of manual and automatic camera functions, principles of composition as well as how to find and control natural light. Day 1: Understanding the exposure triangle. Aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how they work together to control exposure and achieve specific effects in your photographs. Day 2: Mastering camera functions. Ever wonder what all those letters are on the top of your camera? We’ll cover the basic manual and automatic functions of your camera so you feel more confident and in control of the final image. We’ll also discuss white balance and how to achieve accurate color. Day 3: Composition Techniques for Captivating Images. We’ll explore fundamental composition principles such as the rule of thirds, framing, leading lines and balance and discover how it can greatly enhance your visual storytelling Day: Tips for finding the best natural light. You don’t need a lot of expensive equipment to create a beautiful image but you do need a basic understanding of light quality and direction. We’ll explore a variety of ways to improve your photographs with available light and how to achieve the look you desire. Throughout the course, our highly skilled photographic instructor will provide expert guidance, personalized feedback and practical demonstrations. Oklahoma Department of Wildlife; Archery in the Schools | Through the Oklahoma National Archery in the Schools (OKNASP) Program, students have the chance to excel today, tomorrow, and throughout a lifetime in the unique sport of archery. The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), of which OKNASP is a part, is a coordinated effort and partnership between schools, state wildlife agencies, and the nation’s archery industry. Autry Tech in-district students receive enrollment preference and discounts. Total costs and fees will be applied to out-of-district students. | |
Oklahoma Department of Wildlife; Explore Bowhunting | Beginning in 2010, the Explore Bowhunting curriculum was developed by the Archery Trade Association (ATA) to teach students (aged 11-17) basic skills used to bowhunt. The program not only teaches students how to interact with nature using ageless hunting skills, but it also teaches an appreciation of what is around them and enhances their encounters with the outdoors. As one of the first states to pilot Explore Bowhunting, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is excited to coordinate with state schools to conduct the program, particularly as a compliment to the highly successful National Archery In Schools and Oklahoma Hunter Education in the Schools programs.
