| Cherokee Strip Business Model Competition | The Cherokee Strip Business Model Competition is designed to encourage new and early businesses to grow in Enid and to get a head start through annual awards up to $30,000. The competition is a joint effort for economic development with between Autry Technology Center, Enid Public Schools, Northern Oklahoma College, and Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Open to any concept and/or business less than five years old with plans to grow in the Enid trade area, the competition involves businesses submitting business plans followed by three phases of judging. The competition guidelines are available on the Autry website and the Strate Center for Business Development. | |

| Digital Body Language | Like our in-person physical body language, digital body language concerns the subtle cues that signal things like your attitude, level of engagement, intentions and expectations. We send these messages by email, text, on the phone or in a video call to name a few of the modes of digital communication. The way in which you communicate digitally says a lot about you. However, digital body language is more difficult to grasp and interpret than physical body language, which inevitably leads to misunderstandings. For effective communication in the workplace, it’s important to learn how to control your own, as well as your team’s digital body language. You can preread the book Digital Body Language by Erica Dhawan although not required. Feel free to bring your lunch to class. | |
| Discrimination in the Workplace (OLT) | Learners who successfully complete this course will display the ability to identify the legal issues associated with discrimination in the workplace and how to minimize or eliminate a company’s chances of unfavorable legal action. Managers will learn how to identify what workplace discrimination is and how it occurs, how to identify protected class categories, how to recognize workplace aspects of discrimination, and recognize that employers have certain legal responsibilities to prevent and react to incidents of discrimination in the workplace.
