Ladder Safety for Oil and Gas Personnel (OLT)	Ladders are one of the most common and simple tools people use on the job. It’s easy to forget that they can also be extremely dangerous. Each year in the United States, accidents involving ladders cause approximately 300 deaths and 130,000 injuries requiring emergency medical attention. This course should assist learners in recognizing hazards of ladder use, different types of ladders, and inspection requirements. This course is intended for employees in the oil and gas industry who use ladders at work on a regular basis, and will assist employers in meeting OSHA standards on ladder safety. While this course addresses OSHA training requirements, there may be a site-specific training component required that must be fulfilled by an employer.
Lead Awareness (OLT)	Lead has been used for thousands of years for different reasons such as cooking pots, utensils, and plumbing. However, accidental exposure and consumption to lead is poisonous and can result in significant organ and tissue damage. This course will teach employees about the hazards of lead exposure and controls used to minimize or eliminate those hazards. Employees will learn about the effects of lead exposure and the use of personal protective equipment and other methods to reduce the risk of hazardous exposure. This course is intended for general-industry employees who may be exposed to significant levels of lead, and can assist employers in meeting OSHA’s requirements on lead exposure. This course is presented in English and Spanish.
Leadership University	This program is designed to take mid-level managers to the next level. We will have discussions and interactive activities focused on how to grow in your role and ultimately increase your effectiveness as a leader. Sections will include a DiSC management analysis as the basis for your training, making the leader shift, Building trust & conflict resolution, situational leadership, civil treatment, team building and coaching, generational diversity and communication and managing change.
Leading with an Infinite Mindset	Are you inspiring your team or holding them back? No matter how successful the leadership of your company is, there is always room for improvement. Great managers and leaders give life to a job, they make it meaningful, satisfying and engaging. We will discuss different companies’ successes and failures based on them having an infinite or a finite approach and identify key learnings that can tie to our roles in Careertech. You will leave the session with clear takeaways on how you can grow yourself and create the right environment for others to grow.
Lean Green Belt	Lean Green Belt covers the philosophy, tools and applications of 5S, VSM, Plant Layout, Training within Industry, Mistake Proofing, Kaizens, QCO, TPM, Cellular Flow, Pull Systems, Lean Performance Measures, Leadership Roles, Strategic Planning, Lean Program Deployment and cultural challenges. Engaging exercises are included to apply the skills in a structured environment incorporating data collection forms, videos and case studies. A test is administered on the final day.
Legal Application for Entry & Investigational Examination for First Responders	Class will inform and educate the requirements for Fire Chief and/or Incident Command for entry, security and request for investigations. Class will include scene security, assessment observations, witness statements and requirements for firefighters on providing firefighter statements and requested information to provide the State Fire Marshal Investigator preparing to respond to the scene
Legal Structures, Licenses, and Permits	Your small business has options when it comes to organizational structure. Learn about the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of each, while examining how each structure is impacted by taxation, liability and risk, management and more.
Lockout / Tagout	Lockout/tagout is a system that helps ensure workers stay safe while servicing or repairing equipment by making it physically impossible for that equipment to run or move. This course will teach employees how lockout/tagout programs work and the different roles workers must play to make them successful. Employees will learn to identify the importance of proper lockout/tagout procedures, what workers are authorized to perform those procedures, lock and tag systems used for lockout/tagout, and the special provisions of lockout/tagout programs.
Lockout/Tagout for Affected Personnel (OLT)	During equipment or machinery maintenance, there is a danger of workers being injured by stored energy, or by someone reactivating the machine or equipment. These kinds of accidents can cause severe injury or even death. Lockout/tagout is a method to ensure all workers stay safe by preventing accidental start-up or the release of stored energy. When learners have successfully completed this course, they should be able to recognize the importance of proper lockout/tagout procedures and the roles involved, and also identify lockout/tagout related equipment.
Long Term Care Nurse Aid-Reporting Only Sessions	Utilize in person training to prepare for the LTCNA Skill and Written Exam. Master the skills to perform personal care for residents in nursing homes, assisted living centers and hospitals under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Upon completion, you will be eligible to take the certification exams for Long Term Care Nurse Aides CNA to be placed on the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s Nurse Aide Registry. Attendance during all classes and clinicals is required by state law. CPR and State certification tests are included in course fees.
Loss Prevention in Retail Sales (OLT)	Theft and other forms of shrinkage are a major problem for the retail industry, costing American businesses over $30 billion every year. Loss prevention is an important aspect of working in a retail or grocery setting, so it is important for employees to understand the goals of loss prevention and their role in the store’s loss prevention program. When this course is complete, the learner should be able to recognize common types of internal and external theft and appropriate responses. This course is designed for retail and grocery employees and features scenarios and examples relevant to the retail industry. This course is presented in English and Spanish.
Machine Guarding For Oil And Gas Personnel (OLT)	Moving machine parts have the potential to cause severe workplace injuries, such as crushed fingers or hands, amputations, burns, or blindness. Any machine part, function, or process that may cause injury must be safeguarded. Employees who successfully complete this course will learn to define machine guarding, locate fundamental machine areas, machine hazards, the types of machine guards, and the types of machine devices. This course is intended for oil and gas industry employees who, during their regular work duties, are required to work with or around machines equipped with guarded machinery, and can assist employers in meeting the provisions of OSHA’s Machinery and Machine Guarding standard.
Makeup 101: Mom and Me	Join us for a fun night teaching your child about natural makeup application. You will learn plenty too! This class will teach you to utilize your makeup in the best light. Bring your makeup bag and learn how to do a full face application! Kids must be accompanied by an adult.
Manufacturing in the Energy Sector	As a manufacturing decision-maker looking to bid on energy sector contracts, it is crucial that you understand the specific requirements and regulations within the industry. Join Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance's Joe Edmonson and Jenny Cothran in a discovery session to see how your current capabilities align with energy sector requests, review what certifications are required and/or desired by the industry, and learn what incentives may be available for your business' expansion. Lunch is provided.
Marijuana Industry Hazards	This short class will discuss the hazards found in the marijuana industry, to include hazards to firefighters. Discussion on buildings, grow facilities and extraction facilities.
